Def: From the start of the M3 Lee/Grant medium tank's development phase, it was always known that the M3 was to be a stopgap tank. As the first M3 Lee/Grants rolled off the production line development of the T6 medium tank started in 1941 the first prototype was built, and the trails started.
On the 11th of December 1941 the welded model of the T6 was designated the M4 medium Tank, as the cast model of the T6 was designated the M4A1 medium tank. Full production of the M4s started in February of 1942. The T6 prototype was last seen in 1947, and was never seen again, possibly scrapped during the Korean war, but may be hidden away in some unknown corner of the U.S.

For a more in depth/more compete background of the T6 visit Tanks Encyclopedia's article on the T6. I know the SMK is currently winning the poll race, but I got in the mood to recreate the T6's article on Tank Encyclopedia. For thous who wanted the SMK heavy tank, fear not as I will still recreate it possibly later today, or when I get my mo-jo back.
